Sign me up. Is it worth buying a founder pack for a glider or are they going to be fairly easy to obtain after the first month? 4 days head start I dont think will make a big difference seeing how I dont intend on being a patron(VIP subscriber) so I wont own a house ever... But I can maybe be a roommate and pay some upkeep bills?

I had planned to take the week of Sep 22 off already so I can grind like crazy...

It will be worth it to be a patron....the ability to own bigger farms is worth it in itself. The best items in game will come from crafting, which requires a shit ton of resources, which come from using your farm.
