Are you getting bored with the repetitive PvP of WoW or GW? Do you miss the good old days of pre-cast PvP in UO? Do you miss the mechanics of UO PvP? Ultimately, do you miss the best PvP that any game to date still cannot beat? Well, I invite you to come back to Ultima Online to compete against some of the best PvP guilds on a FREE server!

How can you say no to...
- Macroing unattended
- No Trammel
- Pre-cast PvP
- No Horses

Well, we got sick of WoW and GW and went back to our roots. UO. We've been looking for that game that has the freshness and fun factor that UO offered us. Do you ever talk about old UO times with friends? Well, that means that you want to go back!

This server currently hosts a population of 300+ people per night and that's why I'm inviting you to come play full or part time. I'm aiming to have fights that look like this every night:

After about a month, I'm going to be hosting "Fight Nights" on this server. By this, I mean that every, say, Thursday or whatever night every PvP guild will have a dedicated site that we fight at. For example: Thursday night, Wrong dungeon entrace at 7:00 PM. Then every guild meets there at said time and dukes it out till every logs off. They could last an hour or they could last till the next morning. I hosted these on IPY and had a turn out of over 100+ people many times.

So, if your guild is bored and you need a game to fill the void while you wait for the next big thing, then I invite you to macro up some characters and get your guild organized and join in on the fun.

Here is the link to the Redemption server homepage:

Remember! This server is absolutely free to play. So all you have to do is bring your guild and have fun PvP'ing!

If you have any questions, you can reach me here and I'll do my best to help you: http://www.godswrathclan.net/forums/

Spread the word!

Ive tried both uo redemption and defiance:t2a (Defiance shards). Both of the shards are great cuz of diffrent reasons I must say. dfi:t2a is great because of it really gives you the feeling that this is t2a and I must say that after trying out the pvp system with alot of pvpers Ive meet, theres no doubt that dfi:t2a's pvp system is the best one and most similar to the real OSI pre:uor (t2a) pvp system. I fought a couple of teamfights and I must say that they have truly found a perfect balance with the insta hit and the spell dmges.

Anyway after trying uo redemption I have noticed that like almost all the timers are far off and running around in their customized world made me loose all the happiness over playing a t2a shard. :( I can only state that the good thing about redemption is the amount of active players init.

After fighting(and watching alot) a number of teamfights and duells on redemption I can honestly say that it is nothing as the real pre:uor osi pvp system. Except the insta hit which is coded wrong(its to far off to rly be called insta hit).

defiance:t2a got between 100-120 (ppl online) while redemption says it got about 500(ppl online) something.

But I can promise everybody here that if they are not satisfied after tried out dfi:t2a for an week "Ill prolly take my own life inrl" , seriously Ill quit playing uo.
I hope you make the right choice.

..

I'll jump on and play a bit.. I already have a guy from when it opened but I doubt any other KoC would play.. the game is a bit old for them.

chupa

It isnt to bad for what it is, pretty good player-base and skill's are fairly easy. Alot of chessy folk to! I thought UO pvp would be liking riding a bike, Once you learn you never forget. But with all these damn'ed pvp BOT macro's now, It's a whole new ball game. For me atleast...

...

Both shard skill gains suck worse then IPY's ever did.

I've tried a few of these free uo servers and always have fun building the characters but when it comes to pvp, its a totally differernt game than it was in the past.

Every guild uses voice chat, so you'll never get a fair fight, they all announce it on ventrilo and bam, you're out numbered. It's hard to live when you have 7 people sync up spells and dump on you, and it just doesnt have the same feeling as the old uo. Throw in no horses and theres no way you're going to enjoy it when theres an outnumbered fight, its either recall or get beat 10v3

Also, everyone is filthy rich so it doesnt matter if they die, they can regear up in less than a minute and be back in there, everyone carrying 100-200 reags, etc, its like theres no penalty for dying. Everyone has 3 accounts so they can gate out the ghosts or get easy res without waiting 5 mins to log out.

just my opinion, but it would be fun if all of the koc people started playing again, because WoW really does blow. It's not the uo that we all remember and love but still better than 95% of mmorpgs released today

You're right.. ventrillo has killed many games. The idea back then was just basic randomness or word of mouth ingame or at most IRC. That provided a delay or a chance to change things around. It was a factor. Now with ventrillo, you can easily single out a target, basically quickly deicde whats going on.. yes it provides more effeciency and organization, which leads to a quick death. Thats why I can't be bothered playing many of these games. If want organization and all that.. I'll stick to FPS games.. I was Cal-I for CS:Source and I'm working on being a top player for Q4, since I was already pretty good at q3. Thats my kind of quick death/fighting. Old UO was just about getting there with the idea of the Unknown.. except for most of the Death Jesters who were lanned ;)

Its very hard for many of us to just go back and enjoy it :(
